Waiea Amenity Deck
The Association of Unit Owners (AOUO) at 1118 Ala Moana Blvd. retained Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB) to provide Investigation, Design, Construction Administration, and Construction Monitoring services for the Waiea at Ward Village project located in Honolulu, HI.
The Waiea at Ward Village is a high-rise luxury condominium complex, housing 178 residential units. The primary focus of this Project was to repair the waterproofing of the highly visible 7th level amenity deck. Additional elements addressed in our repairs included private garages, gardens, planters, pet area, locker rooms, spa, private gymnasium, and playground.
In 2019, ABB completed a comprehensive assessment to identify construction and/or design defects and establish recommended repairs.
At the culmination of this report, ABB was hired to design and oversee construction phase services to properly waterproof the amenity deck and restore the high-end finishes. Construction monitoring was instrumental to ensuring correct application of the waterproofing and reintegration of the finishing materials.
