Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB) was retained by Hines Interests and Deka Immobilien to carry out Roof Condition Assessment Services and Roof Replacement Services.
Terret Polanco Torre Sur is an 18-story building located in Mexico City, Mexico, with a Leed certification whose roof system consists of a thermal layer and an APP-modified bitumen waterproofing system that presented premature failure because of infiltration of water in several areas of the roof.
ABB carried out inspections to determine potential sources of water infiltration and monitored repairs performed by the roof subcontractor. After several attempts and failed repairs, ABB was hired to perform repair design services based on several Moisture Surveys that we performed before and after rainy season and our previous knowledge of the existing conditions.
In 2021 we prepared drawings and specifications providing several options and levels of repair. ABB participated in the bid process to select contractor. During construction, ABB provided monitoring, quality control and contract administration services.
