UT Southwest Medical Center

Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB), was retained by University of Texas System to provide building enclosure consulting services, including design review, waterproofing, testing, inspection, and construction administration services for the UT Southwest Medical Center located in Dallas, Texas.

UT Southwest Medical Center’s expansion on the North Campus (Phase IV) included construction of a 16-story research building, 5-story support facility, 3-story therapy facility, a 3-story thermal plant as well as a parking garage and below grade facilities. Planning and Construction contracted with ABB to provide technical support for all exterior building systems during the design phases as well as construction.

ABB reviewed design development concepts for roof, curtain walls, window, and major waterproofing components, including roof system analysis and selection. ABB reviewed system details prepared by architect and engineers for the exterior systems and suggested system improvement on behalf of owner’s best long-term interest.
