U.S. Embassy Compound – Santo Domingo Dominican Republic
Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB), was retained by Moore Ruble Yudell Architects & Planners to provide building envelope consulting services for the New U.S. Embassy Compound in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The Department of State’s New Embassy Compound is located in the northwest portion of the City of Santo Domingo on a 16 acres site. The Public and Consular functions are at the front of the compound, the Diplomatic and Embassy Community uses in the center, and the Support and Service buildings at the back, separated by garden walls and landscaping. Giving order to the whole is a sculptural system of parallel walls of various heights, clad in limestone, creating layers of interior and exterior space all across the site.
