Travis County Courthouse
Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB), was retained by General Services Administration (GSA) to provide Condition Assessment, Investigation, and Remedial Action for the Travis County Courthouse located in Austin, Texas.
The courthouse is a 6-story steel and concrete building clad in cream-colored limestone. It was built in 1931 in the PWA Moderne style of many Great Depression-era public buildings. ABB supported architect Gensler by providing condition assessments of building enclosure systems, roofing systems, and window systems.
ABB attended the initial site review with Gensler and the building owner to conduct visual evaluations. Review included existing construction documents, water infiltration history/leak locations associated with walls, exterior doors, windows, masonry, and roofs. ABB prepared a findings report for the owner with cost estimates and prioritization for remedial action.
ABB successfully supported Gensler and the owner on this historically significant, downtown courthouse in Austin, Texas.
