Texas Instruments
Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB), was retained by Texas Instruments to provide storm damage response, roof assessment, survey and testing, roof repair, and roof replacement for seven Texas Instruments’ campuses located in Dallas, Texas.
ABB was contracted to respond with expedited resources to survey of over 70 buildings and 3.7 million square feet on seven different Texas Instruments’ campuses within the Dallas area. These facilities were impacted to varying degrees by a hailstorm in spring 2003.
ABB coordinated with the commercial property insurance company, their consultants and general service contractor to identify the scope of the claim. A team was assembled to survey and agree on degree of damage for each roofing system, document findings, confirm quantities, and photograph damage. We assimilated information and developed a report to show overall assessment for repairs and replacement. Damage was noted in photographs and roof plan drawings. Repair quantities and preliminary cost estimates were presented. A second phase of review was conducted for those areas classified as major replacement to further refine budgetary cost estimates.
The project was completed within 30 days with no disruption to production at any of the 70 facilities.
