ABBAE was retained by the AOAO to provide investigation, assessment and remedial design services for the condominium resort in Maui. The 12-story Royal Kahana is on Maui’s west shore and was built in 1986.
ABBAE’s initial scope of work included reviewing energy-savings reports from a third-party consultant and to perform a building mechanical system investigation. Our assessment uncovered significant issues with the building’s physical and mechanical infrastructure. The client then directed us to prepare a complete set of construction documents for the following:
- Roof Replacement
- Fan Coil Unit Replacement
- Mechanical Room Piping Replacement
- Heat Pump Replacement
- Chiller Replacement
- Cooling Tower Replacement
- Installation of Solar Hot Water System
