Kamehameha Industrial Center

Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB), was retained by KYA Design Group to investigate and assess the built condition at the Kamehameha Industrial Center in Kalihi, Oahu.

The Kamehameha Industrial Center is a four-story commercial development located in Kalihi, Honolulu, Oahu. Constructed in 1993 and designed by John Hara & Associates, its occupant is First Hawaiian Bank (FHB). The post-tensioned concrete facility is 219,000 SF in floor area. The overall property size is 3.12 acres. Because of the near-shore, coastal location of the site, the building is quite exposed.

The facility is used as its primary electronic data processing center and for administrative purposes. These uses are reportedly mission-critical to the viability of the institution.

ABB evaluated the building envelope systems resistance to 105 mph winds. The project also included roof top features such as air handlers, vent terminations, screened enclosures, roof access hatch, and solar roof equipment. ABB provided a detailed findings report with repair recommendations and a cost estimate.
