Hilton Waterfront Huntington Beach
Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB) was retained by Wimberley Allison Tong & Goo (WATG) to provide building envelope and waterproofing consulting services for a major expansion of The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel in Huntington Beach, California.
Built in 1990, the Waterfront Beach Resort was originally a 437-key Hilton hotel on the Huntington Beach coastline. ABB was retained by WATG, the project Architect of Record, to provide third-party building envelope peer review and consulting services for the $140 million renovation.
Renovations included the addition of a new ten-story, 152-key tower adjacent to the existing tower and improvements to the existing public spaces such as the new podium-level pool deck/event space and the new rooftop lounge.
ABB assisted WATG with building envelope/waterproofing system selection and provided a third-party peer review of WATG’s building envelope details and technical specifications. During construction, we assisted WATG by reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings, assisting with responses to contractor requests for information (RFIs), and conducting periodic site visits during building envelope system installations to review installations for compliance with the intended design. In addition, ABB provided construction monitoring and observations
services for quality assurance during the building envelope system installations.
