Hawaii Convention Center

Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB) was retained by the State of Hawaii and Architects Hawaii, Ltd. to provide design assistance and waterproofing consulting services to the Hawaii Tourism Authority/SMG Hawaii convention center located in Honolulu.

Constructed in 1997, the 1.1 million SF convention center is a partially open-air facility consisting of extensive outdoor planters, courtyards, walkways, and plazas. Various skylights, architectural fabric shades, and water features can also be seen throughout the convention center.
ABB conducted architectural and forensic investigations to identify potential issues of the various waterproofing and roofing systems. ABB also provided design support for the preparation of the construction documents that are to be bid in the future for these waterproofing and structural repairs.
