Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABBAE) was retained by the City of Livermore to perform facility condition assessments, design, construction documents and construction administration for several municipal buildings that provide special City services.
The City needed complete and thorough review of the building envelope, structural, mechanical and electrical systems, roofing and exterior wall and window systems on several city-owned properties. Among the buildings identified were airport facilities, fire and police stations, libraries wastewater treatment plant, and maintenance buildings. The assessments also included a review of the condition of all mechanical equipment. Energy efficiency studies were conducted of the central boiler and chiller systems.
ABBAE provided remedial design and construction phase services for each building under individual contracts. The City wished to prioritize the scope, amount and timing of the work to coincide with available funding. ABBAE prepared detailed spread sheets that ranked conditions based on life-cycle costing techniques. This enabled the City to schedule remediation work as funding became available.
ABBAE has performed services on more than 40 buildings for the City of Livermore to date.
