50 Beale Street
Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB) was retained by the building owner, Broadway Partners, to provide exterior consultation services for a 23-story office building with metal panel exteriors.
Scope included review and investigation of the condition of metal panels, sealants and window gaskets and to provide construction administration services during the repairs. 50 Beale is the former corporate headquarters of Bechtel, Inc., the current tenant mix includes Bechtel offices, along with insurance, legal and financial services.
In order to complete the investigative work on this project, ABB staff needed to perform elevation drops from a swing stage while they reviewed the condition of the metal panels, sealants and window gaskets. This also included review of the wall panels to observe surface preparation requirements and determine necessary sealant and gasket repairs.
Additional scope included ensuring the material applications complied with the manufactured installation requirements. Construction administration and monitoring services were included in the contract, with periodic site visits, RFI response and submittal review.
