Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort

Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. (ABB) was retained by Starwood Vacation Ownership to provide leak investigation and reporting services for the Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort.

The project focused on identifying sources of water intrusion affecting multiple building areas and developing practical remedial repair recommendations.

Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort is a hospitality property where moisture-related performance issues required investigation across several assemblies. ABB’s work concentrated on existing leakage conditions, review of available construction documents, and coordination with on-site engineering staff to better understand the reported problems and existing conditions.

ABB investigated conditions contributing to leaks in interstitial spaces, below-grade areas, and exterior wall tile systems. The team also evaluated moisture intrusion in the soffit beneath concrete floor systems and balcony decks. Based on these findings, ABB prepared an initial report covering the three primary areas of concern and provided remedial repair recommendations.

For resort and hospitality properties, unresolved moisture intrusion can affect durability, maintenance planning, and the long-term performance of building systems and finishes. By identifying likely sources of leakage and documenting existing conditions, ABB helped provide a technical basis for planning corrective action.
