July 2017, Palo Alto, CA – Allana Buick & Bers’ (ABBAE) investigation work for Millennium Tower in San Francisco was featured in an article on Business Insider.
Millennium Tower, a $350 million skyscraper, is sinking 2 inches per year and has sunk 16 inches since 2008.
A tenant complained of “unexplained odors” in her unit and ABBAE was hired to perform an investigation on the building where gaps in the tenant’s walls were discovered. The gaps allowed smoke to permeate, meaning if a fire were to start, it could spread more quickly to her unit. These gaps are typically sealed with fire resistant caulking to prevent that situation from happening.
