Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. Adds Two Senior Consultants to Staff
and Welcomes New Los Angeles Division Manager
PALO ALTO, CA April 5, 2010 – Palo Alto based Allana Buick & Bers (ABB) announces several new hires for their Palo Alto, Los Angeles and Hawaii offices. Effective April 5, Mark Hopkins is the Divisional Manager for ABB’s Los Angeles office. In Palo Alto, Donald Carter has joined the firm as a Curtain Wall Senior Consultant and Paul Askham has joined our Oahu office as a Senior Consultant.
Mr. Hopkins is a licensed professional engineer and a registered architect. He has more than 20 years of experience working as a design engineer, project manager, division manager and development manager. He has extensive experience in managing projects from conception through construction and close-out. His operations experience includes sales, marketing and business development. Mr. Hopkins will be responsible for staff and projects connected with ABB’s Los Angeles area office.
Mr. Carter has worked for building envelope and cladding specialty firms for over 25 years, providing consulting services to architects, owners and general contractors for exterior wall systems. His experience includes extensive high-rise experience throughout the world. Mr. Carter has experience in the design, project management and testing of curtain wall, glazing and metal panel systems in addition to high-velocity wind design for exterior building cladding. He will be applying his curtain wall expertise to projects companywide and will be involved with the development of training and seminars as it relates to curtain wall, cladding and other related systems.
Mr. Askham will be in ABB’s Oahu office providing building envelope consulting services. With more than 17 years of experience in engineering design and project management, he specializes in building façade assessment, remedial design and construction defect or failure litigation. Mr. Askham’s recent experience has been in New York City, working extensively on historic preservation and restoration projects. His background working on repair of concrete buildings will serve as a valuable asset to ABB’s Hawaii spall repair, concrete restoration and waterproofing projects.
